Welcome to Brest, France

The symposium will take place in the Lucien Laubier conference room at IFREMER Institute (Technopôle Brest Iroise, Pointe du Diable in Plouzané), located less than 20 minutes away (by car) from Brest city center. You can reach Brest and IFREMER from the airport by taxi or bus, or rent a car at the airport.

A shuttle dedicated "Ocean Scale Interactions Symposium" will leave the airport on monday morning 8:30.

Dedicated shuttles in town will also drive you from the city center to Ifremer: BUS STOP - TIME SCHEDULE

The shuttle Monday Morning leaving the city center will stop at both bus stops.

Weather

In June, the weather in Brest can be sunny and calm but it can also be cloudy, rainy or windy. We advise you to see the forecast.

The meeting

The symposium will be held in the conference room Lucien Laubier at Ifremer.

Presentations

For those participants who have an oral presentation, there will be a Macbook air available with the classical softwares permitting the visualization of pdf files, powerpoint files, open office files and keynote files. There will be about 40 talks during the symposium. Each session should start with an invited talk 30mns long. Time duration of other talks should be usually 20 mns (see the scientific program: Agenda). If you have time to send by email the file of your talk in advance to OSI (osi.symposium@ifremer.fr), that will be great. If not, you will be able to upload your presentation during the coffee breaks or at lunch time.

For those participants who have a poster presentation, there will be two sessions (on Tuesday and on Wednesday - see the website). The poster size is A0 portrait.

Lunches

The participants will take the lunches at Ifremer.

Social events (offered)

A cocktail buffet will be organized on Monday evening, 23 June 2014.

A dinner will be offered at Ifremer on Tuesday evening, 24 June 2014.
